After placement of the post, your jawbone needs time to heal. This process ensures the implant is stable enough for the dental crown. At the top of the implant is an abutment that is like a connector piece, known as the abutment, between the implant and the dental crown. Once the implant is ready, a lab created dental crown is attached to the abutment.
